Giving China victory: apps, hardware and digital yuan.

China is a totalitarian state.  It is ruled by a dictator.  China is a total surveillance state where every movement, social contact and purchase is monitored. China has sent large proportions of the indigenous population of Xinjiang and Tibet to labour camps. China even harvests human organs from its political prisoners (see China Tribunal).

China has nearly perfected social control within its borders so that resistance is futile.

China has laws that impose access by the State on every hardware device and app produced by Chinese developers.

Western governments are happily allowing Chinese hardware and software to penetrate everywhere.  How will this affect us?

Although you may not think that your Huawei phone is a risk the Chinese Artificial Intelligence monitoring systems can list anyone who has viewed under age sex, or who has serious financial difficulties, or who has had contacts with terrorists, criminals etc.  If China desires industrial intelligence it can locate corruptible employees in minutes.  If China wants public support it can locate susceptible CEOs of large corporations, politicians and journalists.

The power of China is becoming highly visible.  As an example, COVID could either have originated from animals or from the Wuhan Institute of Virology (the centre of coronavirus research).  The odds of an animal origin in the city of Wuhan when it could have happened anywhere else are less than 100 to 1 against yet Western Media universally say that those who suspected a laboratory escape were "conspiracy theorists" - given the odds it is obviously the animal origin that is the "theory".  Western media were even continuing to blame animals from the Huanan food market months after China's CDC had investigated and cleared Huanan of responsibility! Another example is the way Maoist organisations such as the Black Liberation Movement (BLM) are covered without mention of their Chinese Maoist pedigree.   The global rise in coverage of and campaigning about Western racism when China is harvesting organs from ethnic minorities is no coincidence and it should have been obvious to the media that a counter propaganda campaign was happening.  Chinese domination of UN bodies, including the Human Rights Committee, and WHO (ensuring its Director General was pro China before COVID) is scarcely mentioned.

How serious is the threat from China?

The current Security Service (MI5) Director General Ken McCallum said that British intelligence had intercepted 10,000 disguised approaches by foreign spies seeking to manipulate ordinary people in Britain.  "We see the UK’s brilliant universities and researchers having their discoveries stolen or copied; we see businesses hollowed out by the loss of advantage they’ve worked painstakingly to build," he said. He also described the scale of the risk: "You might think in terms of the Russian intelligence services providing bursts of bad weather, while China is changing the climate.”

Ken McCallum said that the UK government has been wary of calling out Chinese spying activity for fear of provoking retribution

Alex Younger, a recent ex-head of MI6 warned that “The language China understands is strength and we need to generate that strength through technological innovations and stewarding our alliances.”, that China represents a "generational threat" and that rising “online disinformation, hack-and-leak and attempted covert influencing of political figures” is taking place.

Sir Richard Dearlove, ex head MI6 1999-2004, has given the clearest warnings about China:

(For full details see COVID19 is probably a lab escape). Notice that even Dearlove has not appreciated how a modern Total Surveillance State can remove ALL opposition, including palace coups.

If, having reviewed the very serious and severe warnings above you are still unconvinced then the Chinese authorities can cheer and say "Gotcha!".

Most importantly we must all be aware that China has Multinational Corporations and media companies by the throat, it can deny individual companies access to its vast market, threaten to seize their investments in China at any time, can expose the peccadilloes of senior staff and investors and for the most important corporations it probably holds the majority of shares through its anonymous offshore banking system.

China is subtly controlling the mass media so that we are losing this war.

What should be done?  Either a genocidal, totalitarian state that oppresses its entire population and even harvests organs from political prisoners is acceptable or it is not.  Business leaders will insist that we must engage with China but this policy is what made China into our nemesis over the past 30 years.  All imports from China of communications hardware, from computer processors to mobile phones must be stopped. All software applications from China must be banned.  Most Internet connections to China must be severed, remember, the ordinary Chinese have no access to the world through the Internet, it is used by Chinese security forces to destabilise the world. Western investment in China must be halted and corporations that invest in China fined or stopped from trading.

The security services should investigate media corporations, especially the BBC, to ensure that staff are not being compromised and are not Maoist sympathisers.  We can only wonder at the BBC allocating £100m to combating racism in the UK, the least racist nation in the West.  This is twice the entire Referendum campaign spend by all parties and occurred at the same time as China threatened the BBC over its coverage of the genocide of the Uyghurs.  The BBC sends a bold and continuous message that it is the UK that is racist, not China.  Indeed, according to the implied message from the BBC anyone criticising China is a sinophobe and should probably be arrested for hate speech....

Wall Street, Corporate power and the Digital Yuan

China is now the world's leading destination for Foreign Direct Investment.  This is peculiar because the Chinese government is the ultimate owner of all business and property in China and China does not respect intellectual property.  The lack of respect for intellectual property means that if a Western company produces something in China a Chinese company will copy it within a few years.

Corporations that invest in China are expected to support China.  The Chinese market will rapidly close for any corporation that speaks out on COVID, Human Rights etc. When China permits foreign direct investment it acquires political control over the investing corporation.

China holds US Treasury debt directly but works through its trillion dollar offshore banking operation in the Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands etc.  to acquire influence over corporations (See US-China Investment Ties: Overview).

A trillion dollars and more buys a lot of influence over a lot of corporations.

Both Direct and Portfolio investment in China and Direct and Portfolio investment by China in Western Countries give China control over Western corporate business.

In April 2021 China introduced the Digital Yuan/ Digital Renmimbi.  The Digital Yuan is being sold as just another digital currency like bitcoin but it is radically different because it is not anonymised, allowing China to track spending patterns.  Payments to and from "Belt and Road" countries will be increasingly specified to be made in Digital Yuan.  The official line in China is that it will help to stop corruption but the real result will be to ensure that those corrupted by China are always under China's control.

Multinational corporations simply do what China wants.  As an example, a recent set of photographs of Xinjiang by the French photographer Patrick Wack was withdrawn from the Kodak Instagram site because it was subtitled "Orwellian Dystopia". Kodak removed the post and abjectly apologised:

"The views expressed by Mr. Wack do not represent those of Kodak and are not endorsed by Kodak. We apologize for any misunderstanding or offense the post may have caused." ... "For a long time, Kodak has maintained a good relationship with the Chinese government and has been in close cooperation with various government departments. We will continue to respect the Chinese government and the Chinese law."

An exact parallel for this would be a company apologising for criticisms of concentration camps in Germany in 1937. Kodak are not alone, Microsoft and many other companies have accepted China's rules with alacrity.

Gradually global business is becoming Sinophile, if corporate leaders say or do anything against the interests of China they are punished (Google is still banned).  The net result of this is that the democracies are facing a joint big business and Chinese attack orchestrated by China.

Overseas Education

The education of Chinese students abroad was probably the greatest stroke of aggressive genius by China.  Several hundred thousand Chinese volunteer annually to study in the West to obtain Western technology and insights into Western weaknesses. In 2021 there were 216,000 Chinese students at UK universities.  These are all trusted patriots and many remain behind at the end of their courses as sleepers.   Article 14 of China's 2017 National Intelligence Law mandates that Chinese intelligence agencies "may ask relevant institutions, organizations and citizens to provide necessary support, assistance and cooperation." so it is illegal for these individuals to refuse to give assistance to the Chinese Security Forces (these forces are quaintly named "The United Front Work Department").

It is possible that China has already won.

The Chinese program of sending students overseas to learn the secrets and weaknesses of the West and the control of Western media has paid dividends.  They know exactly where to strike to fragment and damage Western society.  A couple of years ago the mass media in the West was beginning to produce coverage of the genocide that is happening in China but then, across the world, there was a concerted campaign to accuse the West of racism. This campaign was started by Maoist groups but the mainstream media suppressed this fact.  Recently perhaps half of the indigenous population of Tibet has been transferred to labour camps but there has been scarcely a mention of this on broadcast news although media websites sometimes have articles tucked away.  The Chinese campaign has been a resounding success and if a journalist were to accuse China of genocide in Tibet they would be accused by the Western media of being Sinophobes.

In fact Western publications devote more space to condemning Sinophobia and labelling people as Sinophobes than to covering the Chinese ethnic cleansings and genocides and their plans for territorial expansion (See Independent, Editor of Lancet, etc).  Where are all the articles warning us that China is an existential threat to democracy?  It is particularly worrying that China is able to exert control of Western scientific publishers and organisations such as Springer (Nature), Elsevier (Lancet) and the Scripps Institute. Scripps is the main source of support for China on their story of the origins of COVID.

Twitter also obeys directives from China with alacrity.

I have a horrible feeling that China has already won.  The proof will be clear if the West backs off from opposing China's plans to fully annexe the South China Sea and conquer Taiwan.

China is a country that has put its own population in unbreakable chains and violates its ethnic minority populations with an industrial malice not seen since National Socialism last reared its head in the 1930s.  The new National Socialism in China may well have already conquered the world through corruption and subversion but we have not yet realised that this has happened.

Do you remember the mainstream media drawing attention to China having a stranglehold on the sea in SE Asia or destroying at least 7 major coral reefs by building them up into airbases and military bases?  Yet only yesterday a US warship was harassed out of the area in a military confrontation off the Philippines.  China has nobbled the UK broadcast media, especially the BBC which covers Chinese transgressions on its web site but hardly ever on air.

Instead of covering the existential threat to democracy by a racist and genocidal totalitarian state the BBC deals with racism by selecting a few despicable posts on social media out of the millions that occur to create a moral panic about racism in the UK after the Euro 2020 final.  It did not hold the publishers of this nastiness responsible (the social media companies)  but instead has focused on demands for draconian controls on free speech by individuals to highlight UK racism (again, remember that the UK is perhaps the least racist country in the world).  We should be concerned about Postmarxism at the BBC. Postmarxism is only a whisker away from modern revolutionary Maoism, its proponents don't realise that, come the revolution they will be first against the wall.

Practical Idealism by Richard Nicolaus Coudenhove-Kalergi

Coudenhove-Kalergi was a pioneer of European integration. He was the founder and President for 49 years of the Paneuropean Union. His parents were Heinrich von Coudenhove-Kalergi, an Austro-Hungarian diplomat, and Mitsuko Aoyama, the daughter of an oil merchant, antiques-dealer, and huge landowner family in Tokyo. His "Pan-Europa" was published in 1923 and contained a membership form for the Pan-Europa movement. Coudenhove-Kalergi's movement held its first Congress in Vienna in 1926. In 1927 the French Prime Minister, Aristide Briand was elected honorary president.  Personalities attending included: Albert Einstein, Thomas Mann and Sigmund Freud. Figures who later became central to founding the EU, such as Konrad Adenauer became members . His basic idea was that democracy was a transitional stage that leads to rule by a new aristocracy that is largely taken from the Jewish "master race" (Kalergi's terminology). His movement was reviled by Hitler and H

The Falklands have always been Argentine - Las Malvinas son Argentinas

"The Falklands have always been Argentine" is taught to every Argentine child as a matter of faith.  What was Argentina during the time when it "always" possessed Las Malvinas?  In this article I will trace the history of Argentina in the context of its physical and political relationship with "Las Malvinas", the Falkland Islands.  The Argentine claim to the Falkland Islands dates from a brief episode in 1831-32 so it is like Canada claiming the USA despite two centuries of separate development. This might sound like ancient history but Argentina has gone to war for this ancient claim so the following article is well worth reading. For a summary of the legal case see: Las Malvinas: The Legal Case Argentina traces its origins to Spanish South America when it was part of the Viceroyalty of the Rio del Plata.  The Falklands lay off the Viceroyalty of Peru, controlled by the Captain General of Chile.  In 1810 the Falklands were far from the geographical b

The Report on Racism

The " Report by the Commission on Race and Ethnic Disparities " has just been published.  The Commissioners were nearly all from BAME backgrounds and have produced a robust and fair Report. The Report identified a class divide in which the cycle of advantage maintains a section of the population in wealth and leaves the large bulk of the population in relative poverty.   The wealthy class is largely white British but the poorer class consists of large numbers of white British and other ethnic groups.  This class divide causes a bias in the crude statistics on disadvantage so that majority, poor white British are labelled as "white supremacists" etc. when it is the small wealthy class that actually creates the disparity that causes this analysis. The most striking finding is that different ethnic groups had very different experiences and outcomes.  Educational outcomes demonstrate this at a glance: Red text added for this article Most ethnic groups had better outcome
