Project Fear continues. Has BBC no shame or is this a counterattack?

After an immediate reaction to the Leave vote in the referendum most indicators are recovering well. This is to be expected because, in reality Brexit was the "Remain" vote, where little changes, and "Remain" was the vote for change and full political union with the EU around 2025.  The BBC is making out that a financial disaster is in progress, they are irresponsible in the extreme, attacking the British people and economy, hoping to create the damage needed to justify another referendum.

The pound is back to normal levels against the Euro

So what is happening?

Most fascinating of all of the reactions to Brexit is the intervention by the "Eurogroup", this is the first mention of the powerful Eurogroup in the press.  Never heard of them? They are the incipient government of the Eurozone (See What the EU Referendum is Really About). The USA has also not stopped campaigning and Obama is still issuing threats, warning that the UK would be at the back of the queue for a trade deal - of course, neither the EU nor the UK has a trade deal with the USA at present so the threats are empty.

The continuation of campaigning by the BBC suggests that there is agitation for another referendum.  The Leave campaigners should be aware of this threat.

There is already organised pressure for a second referendum. This demonstrates that the EU is a totalitarian enterprise that will brook no opposition. It is our moral duty to oppose it.  If this Parliament passes legislation to enable any second EU Referendum before a full brexit has been effected and five or ten years allowed to pass then Leave campaigners might boycott such a referendum and might sound out any friends in the Armed Services and Police as to whether they will fight for the UK or the EU. This will allow the Brexit campaign to assess the degree to which the Establishment has the power to mount a coup against the People.

The problem of an Elite in Parliament using a petition to overturn a referendum is quite new.   Let us hope that Parliamentarians have the good sense to respect the referendum result and allow at least one General Election to pass, where the people can inspect a manifesto pledge to hold a second referendum and also an absolute minimum of 5 years to elapse so that the actual effects of a Brexit are known.

If this Parliament were to simply overturn the current referendum and stage another in the hope of getting the desired result we really would be experiencing an Establishment coup. How could the People oppose such an event? Given that it would be Parliament versus the people there would be no "neverendum" because once the "correct" result was obtained further referendums would not be allowed by the Parliament.

An Establishment coup would be a very serious event. The first stage of opposition to a second referendum would occur after Parliament announces the date of a vote for another referendum to overturn the first.  Civil disobedience, especially blocking roads with slow moving traffic and pedestrians and boycotting all business transactions except the minimum required to live will send a clear message to Parliament.  This might continue for days or even weeks before Parliament votes.  During this process groups of three or four individuals would be formed to act independently so that if there were arrests of the leadership the struggle would continue.

The Falklands have always been Argentine - Las Malvinas son Argentinas

"The Falklands have always been Argentine" is taught to every Argentine child as a matter of faith.  What was Argentina during the time when it "always" possessed Las Malvinas?  In this article I will trace the history of Argentina in the context of its physical and political relationship with "Las Malvinas", the Falkland Islands.  The Argentine claim to the Falkland Islands dates from a brief episode in 1831-32 so it is like Canada claiming the USA despite two centuries of separate development. This might sound like ancient history but Argentina has gone to war for this ancient claim so the following article is well worth reading. For a summary of the legal case see: Las Malvinas: The Legal Case Argentina traces its origins to Spanish South America when it was part of the Viceroyalty of the Rio del Plata.  The Falklands lay off the Viceroyalty of Peru, controlled by the Captain General of Chile.  In 1810 the Falklands were far from the geographical b...

Do Muslim women want to wear the Burka (Burqua)?

Do all islamic women want to wear burka?  Can a woman's freedom to wear what she wants oppress other women?  Are western feminists aiding a cult that is dedicated to the destruction of feminism?  I hope to answer these questions in this article.  I would much appreciate any comments you might have if you disagree with the article, especially if you have a feminist viewpoint. Here is a description of the problems of wearing burka by a woman of Asian origin: "Of course, many veiled Muslim women argue that, far from being forced to wear burkas by ruthless husbands, they do so out of choice. And I have to take them at their word. But it is also very apparent that many women are forced behind the veil. A number of them have turned up at my door seeking refuge from their fathers, mothers, brothers and in-laws - men brain-washed by religious leaders who use physical and mental abuse to compel the girls to cover up. It started with the headscarf, then went to th...

The Roots of New Labour

This article was written in 2009 but is still useful to understand the motivation behind New Labour - from the global financial crisis through the over-regulated, surveillance society to the break up of the UK into nationalities. The past lives of Labour Ministers have long been sanitised and many biographies that include their shady communist and Marxist pasts are inaccessible or removed from the net. The truth about these guys is similar to discovering that leading Tories were members of the Nazi Party. If you are a British voter and do not think that this is important then I despair for British politics.  Had these people taken jobs in industry their past might be forgotten and forgiven but they continued in left wing politics and even today boast of being "Stalinist" or International Socialist (or in Blair's case, Trotskyist ). Peter Mandelson (first Secretary of State and Labour Supremo): "Mr Mandelson was born into a Labour family - his grandfather wa...
