What are people like?

In the following brief review of what people are like I have, at times, contrasted men and women.  This may seem sexist but the reality is that:

"Women make the decision in the purchases of 94% of home furnishings…92% of vacations…91% of homes… 60% of automobiles…51% of consumer electronics" Harvard Business Review

Gender does seem to be of some importance in human society...

Almost all of the people I know who are between twenty two and thirty years old have similar lives.  They are struggling to make enough money to afford rented accommodation, they are either keen to be recognized in their careers or desperately trying to find a career and are lonely unless they have a boyfriend or girlfriend.  Both sexes are often insecure at work and in mixed sex society.

Modern women have a fantasy about men being more confident, getting all of the advantages  and being more favoured in the workplace than women despite the statistics that show that women in this age group earn more than men and gain greater advancement.
Gender pay gap ONS Data
This myth of the bold, confident, advantaged male springs from two sources: firstly from fiction in which the male characters have this profile and the fictional female characters are emotional and often incompetent; secondly from the effects of women taking several years off work to rear children so that men are over-represented in middle and upper management.  The many gauky, insecure male colleagues of women in this age group do not seem to prick the myth.

The women become more strident as they approach thirty and adopt gang behaviour with other women which then continues throughout life.  At around thirty many, if not most, women desire to have children.  A gender pay gap, which reaches around 13% by the age of 40, then occurs.

Most men have gang behaviour until their late twenties or until they get in a relationship. Most women are uneasy about their partners being in a gang because gang membership means divided loyalties.

Both men and women are addicted to smart phones, the men also being addicted to computers, with the accompanying pornography, and to video games.  Women are not so fond of video games, pornography or sex.  Even at this age women tend to construe sex as partly a method of obtaining allegiance from their partner.  Social technology is the main cause of female use of computers because it cements the gang.

Women tend to dictate the terms of a relationship with the opposite sex, selecting their male friends and generally cold-shouldering others.  Conventionally this is done with an elaborate ritual that is designed to make it appear as if the woman does not perform the selection.  Men who stray from the ritual will be unsuitable.  Each woman has a template for acceptable male personality and behaviour and selects from those who approximately fit this template.  If there is a man who has been trained by his mother or otherwise suited to fit female templates he will be very popular, women may even gather round him like bees to a honey pot.  Women will also be friendly with men who fit a generally female template, allowing him into the gang.  It is the women who have not realized that they do the selecting or who have fanciful templates who find it hard to obtain mates.

The women cling tenaciously to their female friends and will usually prise the men away from their male friends if they are in a relationship.  Men can resist this most easily if they are in a club, such as a sports club, because this provides an official sanction for being apart.

The gang provides women with society and social support.  It allows them to exclude unruly men from society and to set the general social atmosphere in which to raise their families.  Women who are outside the gang may find themselves dominated by a man without respite - or may not.

Sadly much of this social behaviour can also be seen in all primates.

--------------------

Almost all of the people I know who are thirty to sixty years old lead similar lives to one another.  They work fairly long hours - maybe an hour or two over contract requirements a day - and come home tired.

About half of the men go out once or twice a week to play sport or indulge in hobbies.  The other half hang around the house in the evenings and weekends and watch a lot of telly. A very few of the men drink too much and get aggressive. The women have used sex as a lever once too often in their relationship so very little sex happens, the men have a perpetual grudge about being used in this way.  The women think they are just being used if they get nothing in return for sex.  The women all wear war paint and see themselves as social players, hardly any of the men wear make up.

The women like to display.  They display for themselves and for their female friends.  The display extends to their clothing, houses and family.  They are on the phone to their friends a lot and form gangs with groups of other women and the success of the display, whether clothing, cars or houses, helps their place in the pecking order.  Make up, clothing and other props put women on a stage.

The need to conform to the gang means that women are the targets for sales of clothing etc. that give them gang status. They spend most of the money.

Most of the men see themselves as their job.  They become solicitors, doctors etc.  Most of the women use their job for display as well as persona.

Bower bird
Both men and women care a lot about their children and spend a lot of their time providing security and a future for the kids.  Generally the men are largely working to provide the resources for wife and family and the women work both to provide these resources and status.

In most families women largely control the resources of the family which means that they have the power over the disposal of wealth.  At a personal level this is the primary power in society, the power to acquire the wealth in the first place is also steadily moving from men to women.

In general, biological terms ordinary humans are an animal where the female has a pretty nest, filling it with trinkets and the male hops back and forth providing resources. Like back to front bower birds.  The behaviour is so all consuming that even same sex couples play the game and demand it as a right.

Of course, there are also a few humans who organise the bowers into groups and politics and power happens. And there are others, such as monks etc. who cannot see the point - God help them.

The Falklands have always been Argentine - Las Malvinas son Argentinas

"The Falklands have always been Argentine" is taught to every Argentine child as a matter of faith.  What was Argentina during the time when it "always" possessed Las Malvinas?  In this article I will trace the history of Argentina in the context of its physical and political relationship with "Las Malvinas", the Falkland Islands.  The Argentine claim to the Falkland Islands dates from a brief episode in 1831-32 so it is like Canada claiming the USA despite two centuries of separate development. This might sound like ancient history but Argentina has gone to war for this ancient claim so the following article is well worth reading. For a summary of the legal case see: Las Malvinas: The Legal Case Argentina traces its origins to Spanish South America when it was part of the Viceroyalty of the Rio del Plata.  The Falklands lay off the Viceroyalty of Peru, controlled by the Captain General of Chile.  In 1810 the Falklands were far from the geographical b...

Do Muslim women want to wear the Burka (Burqua)?

Do all islamic women want to wear burka?  Can a woman's freedom to wear what she wants oppress other women?  Are western feminists aiding a cult that is dedicated to the destruction of feminism?  I hope to answer these questions in this article.  I would much appreciate any comments you might have if you disagree with the article, especially if you have a feminist viewpoint. Here is a description of the problems of wearing burka by a woman of Asian origin: "Of course, many veiled Muslim women argue that, far from being forced to wear burkas by ruthless husbands, they do so out of choice. And I have to take them at their word. But it is also very apparent that many women are forced behind the veil. A number of them have turned up at my door seeking refuge from their fathers, mothers, brothers and in-laws - men brain-washed by religious leaders who use physical and mental abuse to compel the girls to cover up. It started with the headscarf, then went to th...

The Roots of New Labour

This article was written in 2009 but is still useful to understand the motivation behind New Labour - from the global financial crisis through the over-regulated, surveillance society to the break up of the UK into nationalities. The past lives of Labour Ministers have long been sanitised and many biographies that include their shady communist and Marxist pasts are inaccessible or removed from the net. The truth about these guys is similar to discovering that leading Tories were members of the Nazi Party. If you are a British voter and do not think that this is important then I despair for British politics.  Had these people taken jobs in industry their past might be forgotten and forgiven but they continued in left wing politics and even today boast of being "Stalinist" or International Socialist (or in Blair's case, Trotskyist ). Peter Mandelson (first Secretary of State and Labour Supremo): "Mr Mandelson was born into a Labour family - his grandfather wa...
