The Peshawar Massacre was shocking and anyone who has children will have felt sick.
The Taliban attacked the school as much for the publicity value as in revenge. The global media are unable to resist publicising such carnage. There are three parties involved: the Taliban, the media and the "West".
The media has also been involved in the conflict between the "West" and North Korea and in this case the North Koreans attacked the media directly. Simply by hacking Sony computers the North Koreans have succeeded in preventing the release of "The Interview", a comedy about North Korea.
What do these events tell us?
In North America and Europe the media create the social consensus and guide the reactions of politicians to world events. When the media talk of the "West" they are actually talking about the North American and European media.
As recent events have shown, outsiders control the "West" - the media - by two relatively easy methods. They use "terror" to get publicity and they threaten media companies, executives and journalists to suppress publicity. Terrorism is the creation of the "West". It is inevitable in a postmodern society where the media are the culture. It is the dark side of infotainment and those wishing to grab the media spotlight engage in ever more fiendish acts to ensure media coverage.
Insiders control the "West" by infiltrating and subverting the media as they did during the Cold War and as Postmarxists have done in recent years or by taking over media companies as Murdoch and others have done. It is the recent wave of infiltration of the media that has created the postmodern complexion of the "West".
Opponents of the "West" desire culture to spring from other sources than the media, such as religion or Marxism. So how will they defeat the "West"?
The "West" is the postmodern media so the real battle is between postmodernists and the rest. When the enemies of the "West" work out that all they need do is remove the postmodern components of the media they could have a bloodless victory - after all, postmodernism has no beliefs and postmodernists will not stand. Just look at Sony.
Once the postmodern elements of the media have been removed the reflex internationalism of the media will evaporate and the Middle East will be able to have its Sharia States without the media demanding that they are bombed.
