Siberian Heatwave and Forest Fires

The conventional wisdom is that it is through the kindness of the Indians and Chinese that the world has gained a covering of aerosols to slow down global warming.  I was shocked to find that this is not quite true.

The net result of this inferno is a high aerosol concentration around north Africa.  The South East Asians, Eastern Europeans and Chinese are also incinerating their countries.  This rather dashes some people's hopes that if we just let the Chinese continue dying from lung diseases due to smoke pollution from coal powered electricity generation we won't need to worry about global warming. You cannot burn forest forever.

As you can see, in August it is the turn of the rest of Africa to burn.  However, the burnings might be related to drought:

It is odd how we have become used to the idea of events that have a 1 in 10 or a 1 in 3 chance of destroying mankind. (If you are African that sentence probably seems hollow!).   At the moment there is a Siberian heatwave.  The weather in Siberia is like it used to be during the summer in the 1960s.

This unusual weather system has been accompanied by slightly spooky headlines that read like the opening minutes of a cheap horror film such as Flower blooming season in Beijing arrives ahead of schedule, Indonesia's forest fires feed brown cloud.., UN:World security at risk unless food production is increased..

There is an interesting quote from the UN article: "Even though the UN is calling for increased agricultural production, the arable land we have now is being fully exploited, yet productivity is slowing".

Not that I want to worry anyone.

I would guess that there is about a 30% chance that those who predict that arctic warming will become a runaway event are correct.  The methane and temperature data stack up and make a convincing argument but Mother Nature can always intervene and stop what appears to be inevitable.

If the climate change predictions are correct then Britain's current immigration policies directed at population growth are suicidal.  Suicidal. The prominent names in the  pro-immigration lobby should be recorded and they should be tried for their crimes if we start to starve.  Even if a global disaster does not happen, supporting a policy that has at least a 30% chance of absolute catastrophe is psychotic.  Next time you see a pretty little girl accusing other people of racism for wanting to control the population of the UK look for the psychotic gleam in her eye.



I would also put nuclear war in the Middle East or N. Korea at about 30% chance in the next decade...

If none of this happens by 2025 crack open a bottle of champagne and celebrate!
